Conservas Concepcion Hermanos Ayamonte S.A.
The story of Conservas Concepción has been linked to the story of the town of Ayamonte, from the end of the XIX century until nowadays.
The first documents speaking about the company creation date from 1189, when Ana Maria Valero acquired the first premises for fish handling. This facility still belongs to the family and is the fiscal domicile of the company.
Ana María Valero´s son, Antonio Concepción Valero, changed the town of Ayamonte for Galicia, due to a shortage of raw materials.
In Galicia, he was still involved in the sea fish business; after getting married and after 15 years of absence, he went back to his home town with his family.
His son, Antonio Concepción Reboura, was the person who started firmly in the canned fish world, by creating his company and be selling the brand “Reina del Guadiana”.
In the course of time, he managed to convert his company into one of the strongest in Ayamonte and its surroundings, thus attracting the workforce from the surrounding villages.
Little by Little, the company expanded into new businesses such as housing and commercial premises construction, salt-making installations and the creation of a small fishing fleet to supply his main business.
At the death of Antonio Concepción Reboura, his sons succeeded him and went on the process of expanding into new businesses such as fish farming, property management, retail distribution, as well as the purchase of two canning companies in Ayamonte: Martin Navarro with the brand “los miguelitos”and perez y feu tejero, with the brands Lola and rita.
Nowadays, the first premises of Ana Maria Valero have been transformed into a new factory of approximately 4000 m2 , which gives direct job to more than 100 people; the purely artisanal characteristics of the products have been maintained and the company relies on the more modern technological advances.
The company still belongs to the same family and is managed by Antonio Concepción Jimenéz and Juan Concepción Jimenéz families, which represent the 5th generation of canned fish manufacturers.
